One example of the custom boxes we design for customers in the luxury goods market is the project we recently undertook for the premium watch manufacturer, anOrdain Watches.
Based in Glasgow, Scotland, anOrdain produce and sell high-quality mechanical watches with exquisite enamel dials. Their premium designs sell for thousands of pounds and they even have a 3 year waiting list for some of their more exclusive timepieces!
The Need
The company needed a premium rigid box as the main product packaging for their exclusive enamel watches. They required an insert which was capable of holding the leather pouch containing the watch, as well as a user guide, both items being different sizes. It also had to fit inside an outer corrugate container which had already been produced. This meant it was vital that the box was of the right size for both products but also able to fit inside the outer box — without being able to move during transit.
The customer’s main goals for their product packaging included:
- To upgrade and create a premium rigid box to better showcase their luxurious products and brand
- To fit their products neatly and safely in a box to ensure it reached the customer in perfect condition
How We Helped
After hearing and reflecting on the customer’s needs and goals, we designed and created a beautiful rigid box with a perfect solid walled rigid insert. This allows it to perfectly fit the leather pouch and user guide booklet on top, while offering ample protection for the items.
To ensure we’d provided the client with their exact desires, we produced two unprinted samples to be checked and approved before full production began. We were also able to run our own tests using the watches and guides to check that they fit the boxes perfectly before finalising the design.
We opted to finish the box with textured Wibalin paper and added extra embellishment with magnificent gold foiling on both the inside and outside of the box. The client was able to trust us at every step of design and production and we delivered the boxes to them in 7 weeks.
